After two hot days at Otter Creek State Park, we took the kayak and headed to Posey Lake - north of the town of Escalante, about 16 miles on a good gravel road. This lake has plentiful wildlife - all kinds of birds, deer, bear, and beaver. I acted as Gary's motor, paddling up and down the lake while he trolled for trout (caught a few small ones which we released).
It was a nice break from the heat, and in the evening, we watched the beaver swimming around in the lake. The camp host said he's waiting for the momma beaver to come out with her pups any day now.
