Coosawattee River Resort is a place you could get lost in...easily! So glad we had tour guides. Had a nice tour around the park and along the river (wish it were summer so we could go tubing!). Played a round of mini-golf (where they also have a fitness center and indoor pool), then headed out for a couple of short hikes in a tremendous wilderness area with connecting trails all over - Rich Mountain Wilderness Management Area. Finished off the day with a stroll and sharing a microbrew in the little town of Blue Ridge.
Did I mention our refrigerator bit the dust? We noticed it wasn't cooling, and then Gary smelled amonia and turned it off for fear of fire (common source of fires in an RV). Brett and Olivia were so kind to offer some of their fridge and freezer space for us, and that combined with ice in an ice chest, held us over until we could get a replacement installed. Cha-ching - for those of you who don't know, a "2-way" RV fridge built to run on either electric or propane is much more expensive than a simple home fridge - installed, these can run $2000 or more - for a 8-cubic-ft fridge! Yikes. I was working on finding the best deal and setting up an appointment somewhere on our planned route.
