July 10: A Very Full Day in Estes Park

We headed out to Estes Park on Saturday morning with a full day planned....and it was!  We loaded up four bikes in the truck (Brett and Olivia's are the cool fold-up bikes so they don't take much room!) and headed to the Estes Park Visitor Center where we unloaded the bikes and locked them up. Went from there to the Performance Park where we intended to barbeque and attend the concert that night.  Then walked the downtown - touristy area and perused a few shops (where I finally broke down and bought camelback-type water packs for us).....back towards the visitor center....

...where we picked up our bikes and rode around Lake Estes. Afternoon by this time, so of course we were treated to a nice heavy downpour, some heavy winds and lightning, but it was all fun!

Then we walked the bikes back up the riverwalk - my pictures don't do it justice - this town has done a fantastic job making this a very pleasant area to stroll, shop, dine....

But no shopping this time....we were on a mission, headed back up to Performance Park for the free concert in the park (key word - FREE) and some steaks by BBQ Master Gary. Setting up at our table while Gary performs his art on the grill....

Enjoying the concert...it was a very full, fun day....so you'd think the next day we'd take it easy...
