July 18: Trail Ridge Road, the highest elevation paved through-road in the nation

Our time camping within the national park was at an end, and next stop was the West Side of RMNP; between us and our next stop was the Trail Ridge Road, topping out at just over 12,000 feet. Quite a climb and looking at these pictures, I can't believe we pulled the RV over that! At one point, a car in front of us, going uphill, decided randomly to hit their brakes (did I say, going UP hill?) right in front of us....Gary was not a happy camper. Never hit your brakes or pull out directly in front of a big RV or truck going up a steep climb (where they are trying to make the hill and definitely do not want to brake), or going downhill either (where you are liable to get hit)!
The wildflowers are everywhere, of course!

All is good, no wind, no lightning...this is okay.

Oops, now for a little white-knuckle driving...

Folks in their lawnchairs on a beautiful day!
